It's a little later than I would have liked, but it's finally updated! Easy WP Guide version 2.7. Yay! This updated version covers all the new features and changes that came with the latest version of WordPress, version 3.9. As well as the updated content, there's also a couple of new chapters, bringing the total page count to 132 pages. That's an extra 9 pages of awesome and over 1100 more words from the previous version!

When WordPress 3.9 was released last month, I gave you an overview of the new features that this version brought with it. Hopefully by now, most of you have updated your sites. As I'm sure you've heard me say in the past, it's always advisable to keep your WordPress version, themes & plugins updated to the very latest version. One of the reasons that developers, including the Core WordPress developers, update software is to fix bugs or vulnerabilities, as well as adding new features. The latest version of software is always going to be more secure than the previous versions. And who doesn't want their site to be secure! Am I right!?

This new version of the guide gets an updated introduction along with some new examples to showcase the power and flexibility of WordPress. I've also included a new chapter around Posts & Pages just to make it a little clearer about the difference between these two types of content.

One of the new features with WordPress 3.9 were the updates to the main visual editor, where you add your content. This updated WordPress manual reflects these new changes along with showing you how to add the new audio and video playlists. The guide also introduces the updated theme browser along with a new chapter showing you how to add new themes, right from within your Dashboard.

Last but definitely not least, I've included a new chapter on keeping your WordPress site updated. It shows you how you can update your site with a simple click of a button. It also details how to keep your plugins and themes updated as well. Something that I hope you're all doing!

So, no need to wait any longer! Head on over to the download page or if you want to get stuck straight into it, read it online. The ePub & Mobipocket versions in the Apple iBookstore, B&N Nook Books Store and the Amazon Kindle store will also get updated, but it’ll take a week of so for those to appear. I’ll update the links to those new mobile optimised versions as they become available.

Enjoy!
