¡Hola!
I've got some fantastic news! The Easy WP Guide is now available in Spanish!
Huge thanks must go out to one of our lovely readers out there, Ana Ayelén Martínez, from Caribdis Web Design in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I received an email from Ana recently thanking me for my work on the Easy WP Guide, which is great in itself as I always love hearing from people who find my guide useful. Ana works with a lot of clients that use WordPress and for much the same reason that I originally wrote the guide, Ana wanted to give something back to the WordPress community by translating the Easy WP Guide into her native Spanish.
Approximately 406 million people speak Spanish as a native language, making it second only to Mandarin in terms of its number of native speakers worldwide. It also has 60 million speakers as a second language, and 20 million students as a foreign language.
One of the many services that Caribdis Web Design provides is translation from Spanish to English and from English to Spanish, so you'll find her translation of the Easy WP Guide extremely thorough. Not only has she translated the main content, but Ana has also taken the time to update every one of the Dashboard screenshots, along with updating the extra annotations that are included on them. If you're a native Spanish speaker or have clients that speak Spanish, I think you'll find this translated guide extremely useful.
Head on over to the download page if you'd like to pick yourself up a copy of the Guía WP Fácil Manual de WordPress. After entering your email address, you'll find a PDF version and Word Doc version along with the existing English versions.
I hope you’ll join me in thanking Ana for her great work in translating the Easy WP Guide and make sure you head on over to Caribdis Web Design to check out all their services. You can also find them on Twitter and Facebook.
Ana, you rock!
What a great post! And such kind words… 🙂 Thank you! You know it’s been my pleasure, and I’m delighted with the results. This, as you’ve said, is my contribution to the wonderful WordPress community out there. I’m sure there are legions of Spanish speakers that use and love WordPress, so I’m hoping they’ll find it useful.
We all should thank YOU, Anthony. There are many, many guides and tutorials around the web, but Easy WP Guide is hands down the best. You are the boss! 😀
Thanks Ana. I appreciate your kind words as well. I love hearing about how useful people have found it. I’m sure this Spanish version will only help to make it even more useful now. 🙂
Wonderful job Ana. That would really help users new to WordPress. Thanks Anthony for initiating the easy WP guide project as well!
