If you haven't heard already, WordPress 3.8 is just around the corner! If everything goes to schedule, it's expected to be released in a couple of weeks time, on December 12.
One of the things you'll first notice when you update is the brand new User Interface. Everything within the Dashboard has been given a fresh coat of paint. The interface is a lot fresher and the layout, a lot cleaner. I'm sure you'll find, like I did, it looks fantastic.
To get you ready for the update, I've created a short screencast to show you some of the new features as well as giving you the opportunity to see, first hand, just what the new interface is going to look like.
Now, since I'm running the Beta version of WordPress 3.8 in the video there is a small chance that things may change slightly by the time it's finally released, but I wouldn't expect it to change a great deal, if at all.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, I will be updating the Easy WP Guide so it reflects all the new features in WordPress 3.8, along with the redesigned Dashboard. It most likely wont be released on the same day as WordPress 3.8 as there's quite a bit of work in updating this time around, but it should be released soon afterwards. Keep an eye on our Facebook page or follow @easywpguide on twitter for updates.
I hope you enjoyed the video. Leave a comment below and let me know what you think of the updated design.
Nice updates – THANK YOU for giving us the ability to change the dashboard colors, the dark default is a bit difficult for me to see, was REALLY happy to see we have some other choices to chose from, they are great! : )
Hi Becky, You can thank the team of WordPress core Developers for that. Glad there’s other choices in there that you’re happy with though, if you find the dark colour scheme a bit too difficult to see. 🙂
Cheers Anthony, once again breaking down the barriers between the world and WordPress. I really like the new interface, looks like you’re going to have to update your screen grabs though 🙂
Mind you, so is every video tutorial group so in that way, you are lucky.
Thanks for the kind words Cath. And yeah, I’ll have to update every single image in the guide. That’s one of the reasons why it’ll take a while to update this time around.
Great quick snapshot, love the summary, really helps when I am always on the go…thanks Anthony love receiving your e-updates and following your blog posts. Keep up this great work for the WordPress community 🙂
Thanks Rod. I appreciate the kind words 🙂

I’m sure your inbox, like mine, has been inundated with emails over this past week, with Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, so I’ll keep this nice and short.

Not every unsolicited e-mail gives me real value right in the e-mail itself. I’m impressed.
